Band of the Week: Holy Youth

Published on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 by Don Naman

It's been two years since we last got a record from Holy Youth.  They used that time wisely; retooling the band, focusing on their instruments, writing and creating a new sound that has everyone buzzing about "Heavy Bored".  They held their LP release party April 1st at Seasick Records.

Fans packed the store to hear the guys rip through a set that included all the tracks from "Heavy Bored".  It was clear to everyone the buzz was well deserved.  Their hard work over the past couple of years has clearly paid off.  They've honed their skills as musicians, written catchy lyrics and created a sound that is unique unto itself.

The guys will now undertake extensive touring in support of the new release.  Dates are continuously being added and includes a featured slot on the Seasick Stage at Sloss Fest 2017.  The LP is being distributed by Lolipop Records.  It's available on CD/cassette and every major online streaming service.  Be on the lookout for a soon to be released video, for the track "Rave On" - we hear you may recognize many of film locations if you live in Birmingham.  These guys have our attention and they should have yours.

Holy Youth is:
