Band of the Week: Alabama Rose

Published on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 by Tre Brannum

One part Stevie Nicks, two parts Joan Jett, newcomer Alabama Rose is coming on to the Birmimgham scene, in a strong way. Releasing her debut album this week, Good Times for Bad Girls, Rose has put together an all-star team of musicians to accoplish her mission. Her Mission: To take over the world by turning the sounds of yesterday completely upside down.

What started in California, and a re-birth in the small town of West Jefferson, Alabama, Rose's sound draws from influences as afar as the two locations. Tastes of Blues, Soul, and Psychedelic rocks melt together in an explosive live show. The highly capable musicians are able to pull back the reigns a bit in order to truly give the music the justice it deserves. And the voice, oh the voice, drags the retro sounds up to today's flavor.

Alabama rose plays TWO shows on Friday, March 10th to celebrate their album release. First, they play at The Syndicate Lounge with Blackfoot Gypsies and Reality Something. Then they are at The Nick with Bohannans, and When Particles Collide.

Alabama Rose is:

Alabama Rose- Vocals
Collin Zuckerman- Guitar
Jacob Robertson- Bass
Adam Blevins- Drums
