Martin Sexton hits the "Open Road"

Published on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 by Tre Brannum

Martin Sexton arrives back in Birmingham on Thursday, March 16th, to perform in the intimate Workplay Theatre. Sexton is touring off his latest release, Mixtape of the Open Road. The album features some of Sexton's most daring music to date, expanding from his signature folk sound. Artistically, Sexton experiments with genre bending tunes, while staying true to the witty songwriting and sound that audiences have fallen in love with over the past two decades.

In live settings, Sexton always leaves the crowd breathless. His voice is powerful, and delicate, all at the same time. His range has earned the respect of fans, and major artists all over the world. John Mayer has been quoted as calling Sexton, "...one of the greatest singers of our generation" That kind of praise isn't taken lightly, as guest will hear in the stories and musings told at a Martin Sexton show. Make sure to attend, and be blown away by a truly amazing artist.

Martin Sexton performs at the Workplay Theatre on Thursday, March 16th. Doors open at 7:00pm, show starts at 8:00pm with Brothers McCann opening. Tickets are $25.00 and the show is all ages (16 and under permitted with adult).
